Suwannee volleyball drops first game of the season to Ridgeview

Ridgview outgunned the Lady Bulldogs in their opening match of the season. The Lady Dogs fought hard and did not lose any of the games by many points. But they only won one game and lost three to lose the match. Suwannee lost the first game 19-25, lost the second game 21-25, won the third 25-22 and lost the last game 22-25.

Returning starter Alex Camunas had seven kills to lead the Lady Dogs. Camunas had eight service points and one ace.

Newcomer to varsity ball Jasmine Jefferson had four kills, nine service points, two aces and one assist.

Suwannee’s young setter Courtney Benson had seven service points, six assists and one ace.

Stephanee Skipper, another returning starter, had eight service points, one kill and three assists.

Returning starter Danielle Smith had six service points, four aces and one assist.

Nikki Reed had four service points and one assist.

Rebecca Roberts had two service points, one ace and one assist.

The JV lost their match as well. The JV Lady Dogs won the first game 25-21, lost the next two 21-25 and 14-16.

Look for Suwannee volleyball at home Thursday, Sept. 8 against Madison. Game time for JV is 5 p.m. and the varsity play at 6 p.m. Go Lady Dogs!
