James Arnold
NASHVILLE — Mr. James Arnold, 64, of Nashville departed this life Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at South Georgia Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born June 22, 1938, in Brooks County to the late James Sr. and Carrie Arnold.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Stokes.
James leaves to cherish his memories one brother, William Bentley of Valdosta, Ga.; four sisters, Flora Williams of Nashville, Ga., Ruby Inman, Mary Fulton and Eloise Arnold, all of Valdosta, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Viola Bentley of Quitman, Ga.; one special nephew, Willie Davis of Valdosta, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 25, 3003, from 5-6 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Zion Wall Freewill Baptist Church in Nashville, Ga., with Rev. Bruce Jenkins, pastor, and Elder Timothy Pratt, officiating. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery in Brooks County. — Black and Son Funeral Home, Nashville
Joseph H. Blanchard
VALDOSTA — Joseph H. Blanchard, 70, of Valdosta died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at his home. He was born on June 4, 1932, to the late Nathan M. and Flonnie Fender Blanchard and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mr. Blanchard was retired from the U.S. Navy and a Baptist.
Survivors include a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Jo C. and Bob Sanders of Valdosta; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, John T. and Betty Cooper of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Tami Pope, Regina Depriest, Gregory Cooper, Tommy Cooper, Darlene Clarkson, Shanna White and Linda Cooper; numerous nieces and nephews; one brother and three sisters-in-law, George and Ava Nell Blanchard, Dorothy Blanchard and Arlene Blanchard, all of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lanier Blanchard, stepson, James E. Cooper and three brothers, Harry Blanchard, Norman Blanchard and Raymond Blanchard.

Christine Copeland
VALDOSTA — Christine Copeland, 80, of Valdosta died on Jan. 19, 2003, at Holly Hill Nursing Home. She was born on March 9, 1922, in Lowndes County to the late Frank and Finell Howell Johnson.
Mrs. Copeland joined St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She retired from South Georgia Pecan Company. She was married to the late Henry Copeland. God blessed their union with three children.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children, one son, Bobby Copeland of Valdosta; two daughters, Joyce Howard (Zeno) of Milwaukee, Wis., and Marier V. House of Valdosta; a grandson she raised, Frantino Flucas of Milwaukee, Wis.; two sisters, Frankie Lee Register (MJ) of Valdosta and Vernell Kennedy of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; one brother, Morris Johnson of Highland Park, N.J.; four sisters-in-law, L. E. Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla., K. D. Roundtree, Lillie Mae Copeland and Margaret Johnson, all of Valdosta; one brother-in-law, Clarence McCastle of Valdosta; grandchildren, Temika, Jimmie, Alex, Alicia, Gregory; great-grandchildren, Chirstine, Frantino, Jr., Latasha, Vontricia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at St. John Baptist Church, Barretts, Ga. with the Rev. Gregory Lofton, Pastor and the Rev. Timothy Riser officiating. Burial will be held in Sunset Hill Cemetery. — Harrington Funeral Home
Lee R. Corbett
JASPER, Fla. — Lee R. Corbett, 51, of Jasper, Fla, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Trinity Community Hospital in Jasper, following a brief illness. Lee was born in Valdosta to the late James Alfred “Buck” and Louise Sapp Corbett. He was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County where he farmed and was a member of Jasper First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Smith Corbett; one son, Spencer Smith Corbett; two brothers, James Alfred Corbett III and Joseph Horace Corbett II; one sister, Z.C. Corbett; two nieces, Reagan Ba
rrett and Georgia Corbett; two nephews, Shawn Allen Corbett and James Bothwell Braddock; two great nieces; one great-nephew; and very close family friend, Thurston Norris.

James Duncan
NASHVILLE — James Duncan, 46, of Nashville died on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 3, 1956, in W. Va. to Jackie Varney Duncan and the late Jess Duncan. He was an Army veteran, welder and member of Nashville Church of God.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife, Tommie Brown Duncan of Nashville; two daughters, Kelli Duncan of Washington, D.C., Amber Brown, Nashville; two sons, Eric Brown, Jamie Duncan, both of Nashville; mother, Jackie Duncan, Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Janine Kellner, Bouie, Md., and Jolores Kilgore of Valdosta.

NASHVILLE — Mary Alice Rowe, 86, of Nashville died on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, in Berrien Nursing Center.
She was born on March. 20, 1916, in Berrien County to John and Elizabeth Stone. She was a homemaker and retired food services worker.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Rowe and James Rowe, both of Nashville; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lorine Knowles of Savannah, and Abbie Clanton of Nashville.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Burial will be held in Enigma City. Wayne Terry
VALDOSTA — Wayne Terry, 46, of Valdosta passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, 2003, at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 12, 1956, in Cedartown, Ga., and had lived in Valdosta for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Milford and Dorothy Terry.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Terry of Valdosta; two daughters, Jessica Terry and Christy Fernandez, both of Valdosta; son, Dewayne Burt, Valdosta; four grandchildren, R.J. Holskey, Kaitlin Terry, Austin Camp and Dustin Camp; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen and Sherry Terry, Steve Terry, Joe and Tammy Terry, all of Valdosta; special friend, Lynn Gibbs of Hahira; a number of aunts, uncles, two nieces and two nephews.

Glenn Leroy Tri
Glenn Leroy Tri, 84, of Valdosta passed away at a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. He was born July 2, 1918, in South Dakota and has lived in Hillsboro, Ore., for 60 years before moving to Valdosta two months ago. Mr. Tri was retired with the railroad working in the comptroller’s office. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claire Eileen Walker Tri.
Survivors include two sons, Nick and Kathy Tri of Newberg, Ore., Dr. Terry and Teresa Tri of Valdosta; five grandchildren, Angela Tri of Beaverton, Ore., Sara Oliver of California, Andrew Tri of California, Melissa Tri and Brad Tri, both of Valdosta; one great-grandson, Ryan Oliver of California; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be held at a later date in Ne

Dorothy Mae Jenkins, age 63, passed away on Jan. 14, 2003. She resided at 3296 Johnson Lake Drive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at 11 a.m. at All Nations Deliverance Center. Bishop James Smith will officiate. Interment will be at Foreman Cemetery in Stockton, Ga.
Johnnie Mae Johnson, age 65, who resided at 6693 Herring Road in Lake Park, Ga., passed away on Jan. 17, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, 3:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Bellville, Fla. Rev. Desi Nixon, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at Bellville Community Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is handling professional arrangements.
Marion P. Johnson, 78, of Valdosta passed this life on Jan. 22, 2003, at the Crestwood Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the St. James Baptist Church and the Rev. Thomas J. Hayes will officiate and burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. — Final rites are entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Reggie Miller will be held on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at the Welcome Home Baptist Church in Morven, Ga., at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Clemons officiating.
