Rant & Rave for Monday, Aug. 11, 2014

I can’t believe I’ve found someone in the government that actually listens and responds. I had a very difficult problem and it was Annette Stokes at Saxby Chambliss’ office that came to my rescue. Please consider this when voting this election as it is rare when you actually get someone in government that actually cares.
Valdosta City Schools need to publish the bus number and time as well as the bus route. Just the route is not offering enough information.
Does anyone else think it’s strange that Valdosta has no sidewalks? All these college kids here and very few streets have bike lanes or sidewalks. Is that because everyone is so fat from all the fried chicken and sweet tea?
If you hire an illegal, you should be required to pay for their food, housing, medical expenses and children’s schooling. What’s that? You can’t afford to? Well, neither can all the legal citizens who don’t hire them. Remember, they are your employees, not ours. Thank you, problem solved.
Excuses, excuses that’s all I have heard about the mandated government health care. Yes, the insurance will go up by 25 percent next year; it is national news. Just because you like the plan doesn’t mean others are not affected by it. The great majority of Americans who already had insurance have seen it rise drastically. Your excuses are breaking Americans and causing them to go broke and not able to afford to go to the doctor. Who’s selfish now?
Rant and Rave is the best thing in the paper. You can take some of the comments with a grain of salt, but some of the suggestions have helped action to take place. We all need to be thinking of ways to improve our city and county. This gives us a way to comment.
I do hope the bridge builders will hurry up and open the overpass on U.S. 84 and the Withlacoochee bridge on Highway 31 South. We need these so bad before Christmas and the cold rainy season. Make every effort to double time it. Thanks.
It’s wonderful to have a Daylight Doughnut Shop on Baytree. I do hope they will soon have a drive-thru window.
Reminder to all LMS parents who drive their kids to school; no left turns into the school, please. It blocks the flow of traffic, causes traffic jams, and high tempers. Thank you!
Thank you Kelly and Connie at SGMC business office for helping get my checks to me when I called. Great team work and glory be to God!
