Lady Dog volleyball celebrates senior night and eighth win

It’s been a long time since Suwannee’s volleyball Lady Dogs won eight games in a row. Suwannee’s defeat of Hamilton Oct. 6 put their season record at 9-6. They are 5-4 in district play.



It was senior night as well for the Lady Dogs. Seniors Marcella Walker, Heather LeBlanc, Sharon Jelks, Kortney cherry and Lindsey Gaskins were honored by their parents and the crowd.



The team played well as a whole with game leading performances by four players. Heather Benson had 12 service points, 8 aces, 24 assists, one dink and one kill. Marcella Walker had 16 service points, seven big kills, seven assists and one ace. Kortney Cherry had four service points, eight big kills, one ace and one dink. Sharon Jelks had 10 service points, six kills, seven assists and one ace.

Kyla Serrano had three service points, one ace and one assist.



Heather LeBlanc had three service points, one ace and one assist.



Nereyda Pecina had three assists.



Lindsey Gaskins had three kills.



The Lady Dogs hit the road until the district playoffs they play Madison, Branford, Lafayette and Ft. White on the road. The district tournament is on Oct. 28 in Wakulla. Good luck on the road girls. Go Lady Dogs!
