James R. (Jim) Hall

James R. (Jim) Hall, 70, of Hahira, Ga.,  passed away on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 at the Langdale Hospice House. Jim was born in Albany, Ga.,  on July 20, 1944 to the late James Mearl and Faye Colburn Hall. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Phillipines during the Vietnam War.

Jim was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. He was a good husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with family especially his granddaughters. He was from a large family and he loved each one of them. Jim graduated from Albany High School, Albany Junior College and Valdosta State College. Jim worked as a building supply salesman for Miller Hardware, K-Mart and Lowe’s.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Newton Hall; son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Tammy Hall; two granddaughters, Kayla Hall and Brianna Hall all of Hahira; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Hall of Carrollton, Ga.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Carolyn H. Ellison of Kingsport, Tenn., Susan and Mark Foutz of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Dianne and Kurt Zarder of Coos Bay, Ore.,  and Patti Stam of Albany, Ga., brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Shirley Newton and Bruce Harris all of Hahira; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
