Pink T-shirts were sold in the lobby for $12 or 2 for $20. All proceeds raised by the event went to fund local breast cancer research.

“The best part about it all is the funds we raise from tonight will stay local, and that’s something the community can get behind,” said Lowndes girls basketball coach Brittany Bell.

In honor of the special night, the varsity girls team wore pink shoes with pink shoelaces, and the boys wore pink shoelaces as well.

During the break separating the doubleheader, the Lowndes varsity basketball teams had a little something special to present to a few area middle schoolers.

Both varsity teams lined the floor as middle school basketball players from Lowndes, Pine Grove and Hahira came down from the stands to accept gift bags and get a congratulatory greeting from Lowndes coaches and players.
