- Opening day for the Gipsons at the 2015 Wild Azalea Festival.
Brenda and Billy Gipson are excited about their new business venture selling antiques and crafts inside the historic Adams Country Store in White Springs. They are leasing the building from owner Raymond Cheshire.
Opening day for the Gipsons was celebrated in grand style during the 15th Annual Wild Azalea Festival on Saturday, March 21. Their hours of operation are Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
“My husband will be making a lot of crafts and furniture from the old, antique refurbished wood,” said Brenda Gipson. “We hope to have an old-time soda fountain open by this summer. We’re still working on it.”
If all goes as planned, the soda fountain will be located at the rear of the store in a cozy little corner and guests will be able to purchase milkshakes, sundaes and floats.
There won’t be a separate business name for the venture, Gipson said, as they are just leasing the building. It will just be called Adams Country Store.
“That’s how we’re leaving it,” she said.
The Gipsons are from Plant City and are currently living in an apartment above the store while they run the business. They also have a construction company that they are still operating on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Gipson said she and her husband are willing to buy antiques, as well as do consignment crafts if anyone is interested.
