Dorothy Davis Fennell, 73, of Jasper, Fla., passed away Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center following an illness of some time.

Mrs. Fennell was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County and retired after teaching for the Hamilton County School System for 27 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Fennell was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy DeWitt Fennell

Survivors include two sons, Terry Fennell (Judy) and Ricky Fennell (Charlotte), all of Jasper; one daughter, Cindy Mode (Gary) of Lake Park; her stepmother, Bertie Davis, Statenville; one sister, Ann Kinsey, Lake Park; eight grandchildren; seven grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper, Fla. The family will receive friends between the hours of 1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fla. — Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fla.



BATON ROUGE, La. — A pharmacist and homemaker in her former homes of Amarillo and Houston, Texas, she died at her home in Baton Rouge, La., on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003 at 9:40 a.m.

The 50-year-old native of Quitman received a B.S. degree in pharmacy from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in Athens and an M.S. degree in pharmacy administration from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Her various honors include Rho Chi membership, Rennenebohm Graduate Teaching Fellow of the Year, and was twice named Professor of the Year at the University of Wisconsin. She was a member of the American Society of Healthcare Systems Pharmacists. While a member of the Gulf Coast Branch of ASHSP, she held various offices. She was also a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, as well as the Mensa Society. Baptized at an early age, Margaret was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, where she loved playing hand bells.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Paul Bahlinger; two sons, Michael Jared LoPachin, Baton Rouge, La., Nicholas John LoPachin, Lafayette, La. She leaves two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Russell Warmack of Lyman, S.C., and Geraldine and Sam Herring of Valdosta; two special “sisters”, Lucinda Miller and Elaine King-Miller of Amarillo, Texas; her father-in-law, Vernon Bahlinger; sister-in-law, Mary Gay Bahlinger and husband William Larrick; brothers-in-law, Cary Bahlinger and wife Jane, Bruce Bahlinger, Cliff Bahlinger and wife Lisa, Tom Bahlinger and wife Donna; and sister-in-law, Nanette Bahlinger. Margaret also leaves to mourn her passing numerous relatives, friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Gerald and Martha Holloway; maternal grandparents Ray and Kathryn Longshore; paternal grandparents Coley and Mamie Holloway; and mother-in-law, Helen Bahlinger.

Visitation was held Thursday at Rabenhorst Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today, Nov. 7, 2003, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Amarillo, Texas on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at 3 p.m. Private interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. — Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, La.



LAKE PARK — Homer James, 86, of Lake Park passed this life Nov. 2, 2003, at the Heritage House Nursing Home.

Mr. James was born June 17, 1917, in Lowndes County to the late Mr. Palford James and the late Mrs. Alberta Tehart James. He was a retired farmer and was a faithful member of the Concord Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia James.

He is survived by two sisters, Edith James of Lake Park and Louise Drye of Belleville, Fla.; three nieces; three nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Concord Baptist Church and the Rev. Don Carter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. — Harrington Funeral Home



VALDOSTA — Winterfred Campbell Sears, 54, of Valdosta, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Fort Smith Hospital.

She was born Aug. 18, 1949, in Valdosta to Laura Edwards and Willie Lee Campbell Sr.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Major Sears of Harley, Del.; a loving daughter, Wanda Campbell Whitehead and husband, Edgar Lee of Fort Smith; one son, Otis Berkley Williams, Jr. of Dover, Del.; a very special granddaughter, Deniquia Harden of the home; granddaughters, Tarshica Whitehead, Omiya Williams and Katrina Harden; two grandsons, Tarshawn Whitehead and Haissen Brown; her loving mother and father, Laura NeeSmith of Valdosta and Willie Campbell Sr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Betty Thomas, Martha Hogan, Winona Sharp, Patricia Smith, all of Valdosta and Bennie Foreman of Brunswick; six brothers Charles Edwards of Atlanta, Lee NeeSmith of Dayton, Ohio, Tony Jackson, Darren Jackson, Derrick Jackson, Russell Jackson, all of Valdosta and Willie Lee Campbell Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters-in-law, Valerie Edwards, Pansy NeeSmith, LaSandra Jackson, Clara Thomas, Minnie Jones; a special niece, Toshia Smith Williams of Valdosta; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Hogan of Valdosta and Sandy Sears of Fla.; a special aunt and uncle , Willie Cut Edwards and Pauline Tag Edwards of Valdosta; special friends, Arlene Booker of Middletown, Del., Peggy Gardner and Rosetta Daniels, both of Valdosta; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at St. James Baptist Church in Valdosta with burial in Sunset Cemetery. — Harrington Funeral Home



VALDOSTA — Theresa Ellen Stables, 80, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on Nov. 22, 1922, in Halifax, Nova Scotia and had lived in Connecticut before moving to Valdosta one week ago. Mrs. Stables was a Catholic.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Webb of Valdosta, Pat and Matt Bockh of Treasure Island, Fla.; two granddaughters and a grandson-in-law, Theresa Webb and Stephanie and Jake Harris; one great-grandson, Bryce Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Martin Stables.

A visitation will be held on this evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. — Carson McLane Funeral Home.

Jonathan Jett, 24, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Valdosta, died in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Carson McLane Funeral Home.



Randolph Eugene “Randy” King, 63, of Jasper, Fla., died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Shands at Lake Shore Hospital in Lake City, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fla. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Jennings, Fla. Nancy Irene Reed, 79, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at her residence after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Marion, Ind. — Carson McLane Funeral Home



Mr. Eddie Rutherford, 57, Adel died Nov. 5, 2003, at his residence after a sudden illness. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. John Hendley officiating. Rand “Big Dent” Denson, 74, Quitman, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Washington Funeral Home.
