The Suwannee River Jam (SRJ) will arrive at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park & Campground (SOSMPC) today, April 29, and will run through May 2 with many of today’s great country artists performing over four days. Known as the South’s Country Music and Camping Festival, the SRJ will have country greats Alabama, Sawyer Brown, Rodney Atkins, Chris Young, Josh Turner, John Anderson, Thompson Square, Adam Sanders, LoCash, Corey Smith and David Cooler.

Also entertaining will be 309C Band (Palatka) and five terrific SRJ Audition band winners: Michael Miller (Tallahassee), Amber DeLaCruz (Callahan), Ben Carter (Starke), Steven Flowers (Gainesville), and the Old Souls of the South and Psycho Billy Cadillac (Atlanta) bands.

SRJ Audition solo/duo artists set to perform are Nate Kenyon (Nashville and Baxley, Ga.), Cassidy Lee Barden, Cole Tomlinson (Blackshear, Ga.), Savanna Leigh Bassett, Ashton Taylor, Rachael Blount, Southern Sass featuring Cassidy Kinsman and Kelby Cornman (all from the Jacksonville area), Joshua Edwards (Bell), James Carter (Lake City) and Mark Copeland (Alachua).

The Jam opens Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Music Hall with various singers along with new country artist Ricky Valido of Hialeah; the Ultimate Cowboy Challenge semi-finals; David Cooler and his band; Daisy Duke semi-finals; and Psycho Billy Cadillac Band.

This huge country music festival runs through Saturday night with two stages. To check the Jam schedule, go to www.suwanneeriverjam.com. You can also download the free SRJ smartphone app so you know when and where every artist will perform.

Another special event will be the Adam Sanders Welcome Home Party on Saturday, May 2, at 3 p.m. in the Music Hall before Adam’s stage performance at 9 p.m. on the 1st Street Music/Budweiser Party Zone Stage in the Amphitheater. Adam, a well-known North Florida country artist from the Jennings/Lake City area before he moved to Nashville, is making his mark in country music across the nation now with his songwriting and his music. Friends, fans, and family are all encouraged to attend the SRJ Saturday to help us welcome home our very own local country artist.

Tickets are on sale at www.musicliveshere.com, www.suwanneeriverjam, by emailing spirit@musicliveshere.com, by calling the SOSMPC at 386-364-1683 or by visiting the main office. Tickets will also be available at the gate.

Special activities during SRJ 2015 will be a Soap for Soldiers drive; food drive for Love INC; Ms. SRJ 2015 Daisy Duke Style contest with prizes valued at thousands of dollars; Cowboy Challenge where the guys get their chance to show off; and Hope Notes Silent Auction to benefit area school bands.

These events, along with all the amenities offered by the SOSMPC such as canoeing, hiking, biking, golf carting, disc golf, watching millions of bats leave the largest bat house in America each evening at sundown, visiting the Store of the Village, Crafts Village, and so much more will make the SRJ weekend awesome.

There will also be a Cinco de Mayo golf cart parade Saturday at noon beginning at the Grande Hall. Decorate your golf cart in a Cinco de Mayo theme and win some great prizes, compliments of your SRJ team and Budweiser.
