PINETTA, Fla. — Martha H. Crafton, 54, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, in Madison, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 29 at Beggs Madison Chapel in Madison. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Pinetta. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was born in Madison County and was a lifelong resident. She was an insurance clerk with Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was a former owner and operator of Martha’s Antiques and Collectibles in Remerton. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pinetta. Survivors include her husband, Joe L. Crafton of Pinetta; two sons, Mark Land and wife Beth of Madison, and Jody Crafton of Marietta; her mother, Evelyn Cribbs of Lake City, Fla.; three sisters, Linda Roady of Tallahassee, Rosa Chambliss of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; Tammy Cavannah of Lake City, Fla.; three brothers, Eugene, Danny and Chris Royals of Lake City; three grandchildren, Tyler and Kendall Land of Madison and Brock Crafton of Watkinsville. She was raised by one aunt, Dorothy Hubbles and husband Jack of Madison and two uncles, Alvin Eddins and wife Shirley and Calvin Eddins of Madison, other aunts, Johnnie Kinard of Quincy, Fla., Iva Lee Davis and Geneva Massey of Madison, and a host of nieces and nephews. — Beggs Funeral Home



VALDOSTA — Fred John Holland, 74, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Valdosta, he was the son of the late John Holland and Laura Crews Holland and had lived most of his life in this area. Mr. Holland was associated with the U.S. Post Office for many years and later was a school crossing guard at St. Johns Catholic School. He was a member of Perimeter Road Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Bettye June Bass of Valdosta; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Carla Bennett of Ruskin, Fla., Jeff and Debbie Holland of Jacksonville, Fla., Tim and Sharon Holland of Valdosta; seven grandchildren and one grandson-in-law; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The Rev. Wayne Dorsett and the Rev. Hillman Hendley will officiate. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday. VALDOSTA — Jamie Moye Twiggs, 89, Valdosta, died on Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at her residence. She was born Sept. 2, 1913, in Augusta to the late James C. and Mattie Dorn Moye. Mrs. Twiggs was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Valdosta. Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Freddie and Naomi Twiggs, Stockton. She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Twiggs, and son, Ricky Twiggs. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 30 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Randall Copeland, 66, Knoxville, Tenn., died on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services for Mr. Copeland will be on Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, 2 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel, Valdosta, with Ed Jones of Knoxville officiating.
