Jesse Roswell ‘Rossi’ McMillan

Jesse Roswell “Rossi” McMillan, 82, of Enigma, and the West Berrien Community, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Berrien County to the late Ollie McMillan and the late Thelma Greta Allen McMillan. He was a retired farmer and former school teacher at the West Berrien School where he coached the boys and girls’ basketball teams to several championships. He graduated from the Tifton High School in 1951, and from ABAC in 1953. He faithfully served his community as a former member of the Berrien County Board of Education for 23 years, the longest service of any board member to date and was a former Berrien County Commissioner.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen McMillan.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Tyson McMillan of Enigma/West Berrien; daughter, Sherry (Pete) Barrett of Macclenny, Fla.; two sons, Steve (Laura) McMillan of Enigma/West Berrien and Tim (Margaret) McMillan of Enigma/West Berrien; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Ruth McMillan, Melissa (Stripling) McMillan Luke, Dr. Jesse (Mandy) Franklin McMillan, Jonathan (Grace) Roswell Barrett, Zachary Pete Barrett, Tyson Carter McMillan, Stephen Charles Harold McMillan, Ashley Blake (Rebecca) Barrett, Evan McMillan Barrett and Daniel Timothy McMillan; eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 24, 2015, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Elder Charles Tyson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rossi McMillan Family Cemetery.
