After drinking at an Indiana strip club, 19-year-old Brenton A. Hoppes was arrested and charged with three felonies after allegedly pointing a gun at man who refused to give him $5, authorities say.

A 19-year-old Indiana man who authorities say was drinking at a strip club was arrested and charged with three felonies after allegedly pointing a gun at man who refused to give him $5.

A probable cause affidavit filed in the case says that Brenton A. Hoppes was arrested after he allegedly accosted another patron at Big Daddy’s Show Club in Kokomo, Indiana.

According to the affidavit, the victim, a 33-year-old male, told officers that Hoppes was going around the club asking people for $5. When the victim told him he didn’t have $5, Hoppes said there would be a problem and allegedly pulled a handgun out of his waistband and pointed it at the victim’s chest. One of Hoppes’ friends pushed the victim to the ground, and Hoppes pointed the gun at him again, according to the victim’s account.

Officers dispatched to the scene arrived to find Hoppes and another male walking across the parking lot away from the club. Officers saw Hoppes bend down and put something in the grass next to the fence in the alley north of Big Daddy’s, and they found a 9mm semi-automatic handgun there, loaded with a bullet in the chamber.

Big Daddy’s manager Cliff Rikard told the Kokomo (Indiana) Tribune Hoppes had a fake ID, which is how he was able to enter the club and obtain alcohol. A preliminary breath test showed Hoppes’ Blood Alcohol Content was 0.157.
