Camille Porter Clark

VALDOSTA — Camille Porter Clark, 89, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at Heritage House Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 25, 1914, in Shreveport, La. Mrs. Clark was a seamstress and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jan McDonald of Gainesville, Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, James Earl McDonald.

Funeral services will be held in Georgianna, Ala., later this week. Burial will be held in Oak Wood Cemetery in Georgianna, Ala. Carson McLane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements locally. W. R. (Billy) Fender Sr.

VALDOSTA — W. R. (Billy) Fender Sr., 76, of Valdosta died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Lakehaven Nursing Home. He was born on May 20, 1927, in Lowndes County to the late A. F. Sr. and Ruby Atkins Fender and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Fender was a long-time member of Morningside Baptist Church where he had served as deacon and a Sunday School teacher. He was retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mr. Fender was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Jackie Fender of Valdosta, David and Annette Fender of Hahira; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Charles Griffin, Diane and Cecil Bellflower, all of Hahira; nine grandchildren, Holly Hutchinson, Brad Fender, Stacy Touchton, Brandi Fender, Neil Griffin, Blake Griffin, Matt Fender, Chad Fender and Ashlie Bellflower; six great- grandchildren, Katie Griffin, Trey Griffin, Hannah Hutchinson, Trace Touchton, Kinley Touchton and MaKenna Bellflower; one brother and sister-in-law, A. F. Jr. and Jeane Fender of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Amos Fender; a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Terry Fender; and three sisters, Wilma Howell, Catherine Sellars and Mildred Hancock.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Ouida Wilson Hamilton

HOMERVILLE — Ouida Wilson Hamilton, 87, of Homerville passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the Clinch Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

A native of Atkinson County, she had lived in Homerville since 1962. She was a retired head start teacher with the Clinch County Board of Education, a representative for Avon Products and a member of the Homerville Freewill Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late William “Buddy” Wilson and Mary Corbitt Wilson and was the widow of pastor and evangelist, the Rev. T.G. Hamilton Jr.

Survivors are one daughter, JoAnn Wilson Taylor, Valdosta and Homerville; one grandson and wife, Dr. Stephen and Lorre Wilson, Huntington, W.Va.; two great-grandsons, Stephen Wilson II and Evan Wilson, Huntington, W.Va.; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Katie Wilson, Huntington, W. Va.; three stepgrandchildren, Stacy, Stephanie and Brent Taylor, Valdosta; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Cole, Kyle, Saralyn and Shelby Moore, Valdosta; one sister, Mary Lou Hinson, Homerville; three brothers, Martin Wilson, Junior Wilson and W.N. Wilson, all of Homerville; and several other relatives.

Services for Mrs. Hamilton will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Homerville Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Arabia Cemetery.

Mrs. Hamilton will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today with visitation after 5 p.m. Mrs. Hamilton will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.

James Irvin Reichart

QUITMAN — James Irvin Reichart, 66, of Quitman died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born in Thomas County, he was the son of Irvin Lester and Eunice Leona Ward Reichart. He moved to Brooks County in 1962 where he worked as a banker for many years and retired from the American Banking Co. He was a member of the Quitman United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Georgia Reichart of Quitman; two daughters; Susan (Gene) West of Quitman, Sandra (Jay) Watkins of Valdosta; one son who is proudly serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Russell (Robin) Reichart of Portsmouth, Va.; five grandchildren, Austin and Andrew West, Daniel Reichart, Faith and Grace Watkins; his mother, Eunice Dew of Thomasville; one brother, Danny Reichart of Ochlocknee; two nieces; Danica (Ben ) Willis, Brittany Reichart, both of Thomasville, four nephews; Bruce Taylor, Terry, Craig and Audie Bishop, and many loving friends and relatives.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmie Cone and the Rev. Jay Watkins officiating.

Nancy Kinney, 69, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away on Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at her residence.
