LaJuana Clark

BONAIRE — LaJuana Clark, 62, of Bonaire, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at her residence. She was born on Jan. 4, 1940, in Berrien County to the late Arthur Leonard and Louise Garner Snipes. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Ray City. She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie D’Wayne Clark and a brother, Charles L. Snipes. She is survived by her husband, William E. Clark of Bonaire; two sons, William A. Clark, Ft. Valley, Kenneth W. Clark, Kathleen; one grandson, Austin Clark of Kathleen; five brothers, Duggan Snipes, Snellville, Donald Snipes, Hampton, Billy Snipes, Jennings, Fla., Walter Snipes, Ray City, James Snipes, Buford. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Ray City with the Rev. Lee Graham and the Rev. Sam Prevatt officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Dam Cemetery. William Edward Miller Jr. (Bill)

LAKE PARK — William Edward Miller Jr. (Bill), 34, of Lake Park, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002. He was born on July 5, 1967, in Valdosta to William Edward Sr. and Rochelle Barrett Miller. Mr. Miller graduated from Lowndes High School where he played for the LHS Vikings football team for four years. He was employed by UPS for more than 15 years and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors include his parents, Rochelle and Edward Miller of Lake Park; one sister, Christy M. Butler of Valdosta; one brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Robin Miller of Valdosta; and four special nieces, Lauren Miller, Jordan Black, Tristin Butler and Chelsea Butler, all of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barrett, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. “Slim” Miller. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Badley, Dr. Henry Cannington and the Rev. Ed Falgout officiating. Robert J. ‘Bob’ Mize

VALDOSTA — Robert J. “Bob” Mize, 70, of Valdosta, passed away at home on March 26, 2002. He was born in Seiverville, Tenn., on April 21, 1931. He graduated from the University of Tennessee where he was a member of the football team. He was a successful automobile dealer for many years. He was the recipient of many awards including the Presidents Award from Ford Motor Company. He was active and served as chairman of the Lincoln Mercury Advertising Council. He loved the Georgia Sheriff’s Boys Ranch and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon and trustee. He was loved so dearly by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kevin and Stephanie Mize of Valdosta, Keith Mize of Valdosta, Robert and Cindy Mize of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Mari Sanders of Knoxville, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Dorothy Smith of Valdosta; three brothers-in-law, Charles Smith of Mt. Sterling, Ky., Jack Smith of Beaufort, S.C., and Allen Smith of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Kelly Mize, Stephen Mize, Zachary Mize, David Mize and Ryan Mize, all of Valdosta; stepmother, Martha Mize of Knoxville, Tenn.; two half brothers, David Mize and Fred Mize of Knoxville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steven Jones officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Carson McLane Funeral Home. Hattie Dollar Peace

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — Hattie Dollar Peace gently passed on to our Lord on March 24, 2002, her works on earth done, after 91 years. B





orn on Sept. 10, 1910, in Grady, the daughter of the late Robert Harris and Alice Taylor Dollar, In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, B.P. (Ben) Peace; her sons, William H. Peace, John B. Peace; her sister, Marguerite Johnson; and her brothers, Forrester Dollar and Robert Dollar. Mrs. Peace attended Montreat Normal School in Black Mountain, N.C. She lived most of her life in Valdosta where she was a loving mother, wife, neighbor and faithful member of Azalea City Baptist Church. In recent years, she lived in Fuquay-Varina with her daughter and son-in-law. Mourning her death but celebrating her life are her children, Lou Jean Peace of Yangsang S. Korea, Dale and Pam Peace of Live Oak, Fla., Alice Carolyn and Walter Stapleton of Fuquay-Varina, Debbie Peace of Charlotte, N.C., Charlotte Peace of Norcross; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Stanley Luke will officiate and burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
