Evang. Glorious Jean Willis, fondly called Sue, was born April 4, 1955 in Camilla, Ga., to Eula Mae Harrison Willis and the late James Willis.
On Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, the Lord whispered to Gloria, “Peace be Thine. You have fought a good fight, you have finished your course, you have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for you a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give you at that day.”
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her aunts: Alma Wimbley and Betty Jean Wimbley.
Gloria leaves her legacy of strength and courage to her daughter: Tessa Rena Saxon (Tracy Davis) of Valdosta; a grandson, Fredrick Hightower and a granddaughter, Lacharise Haynes, both of Valdosta; great-grandchild: London Rena Hightower of Thomasville; mother: Eula Mae Willis of Camilla; three sisters, Queen Bell of Warner Robins, Ga., Barbara Harrison of Camilla, Mildred Livingston of Baconton, Ga.; aunts and uncles: J.R. “Buddy” Harrison, Sr. (Catherine) of Camilla; Virginia Burley, Ernestine Crump, Eddie Lou Hines (Will) of Columbus, Ohio; seven nieces, Cynthia Harrison, Ann Harrison, Sabrina Harrison, Sheila Bell, Michelle McClain, Gwen Williams, April Pitts; four nephews, Jermaine Harrison, Brian Bell, Tony Bell, Robert Garner; a special cousin, Elder J.R. “Bubba” Harrison, Jr. (Vianna) of Atlanta; special friend, Lorna Griffin of Atlanta; caretaker, Cambriel Lurry; and a host of cousins and friends.
The celebration of life for the late Evang. Glorious Jean Willis will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at 11 a.m., from the sanctuary of Open Door Church of Praise, 7828 U.S. Hwy. 19 N, Camilla, Ga. Dr. Joe R. Thomas is pastor and Chief Apostle Wilson McCray will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oakview Cemetery, Camilla, Ga.
