June 5, 1927 – Sept. 11, 2015
Horace Elston Williams, 88, of Lake Park, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Live Oak, Florida on June 5, 1927 to the late Horace Donald and Abbie Lanier Williams. Mr. Williams was a charter member of Northway Community Church and the founder and owner of Renee’s Fashions. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Williams enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and travelling. He loved living on the lake and teaching people how to water ski.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Von Erie Baker Williams of Lake Park, two sons and daughters in law, Michael and Gaile Williams of Lake Park, Jerry and Teresa Williams of Hahira; grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Cary Williams of Morven, Monica and Brandon Whitesides of Jefferson, Jessica and Chad Allen of Flowery Branch, Lori and Brinson Barker of Guatemala, Julie and Jonathan Tomlinson of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Hallie Whitesides, Davis Whitesides, Mason Whitesides, Elijah Barker, Asher Barker, Seth Barker, Michael Williams, Jacob Williams, Anniston Allen, Brody Allen, Tyler DeLoach, Maddie Tomlinson, Hunter Tomlinson, Rylee Tomlinson; two sisters, Doris Starling of Live Oak, Fla., Geraldine Moseley of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers and sisters in law, Raymond and Vivian Williams, Donald Williams, Jimmy and Gloria Williams, Ronald and Carolyn Williams, Oveida Williams all of Live Oak, Fla. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Williams.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. William Blanchard officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. James C. Clayton
Oct. 20, 1927 – Sept. 7, 2015
James C. Clayton was born on Oct. 20, 1927 in Live Oak, Fla. to Mr. Phillip W. And Mrs. Georgia Clayton. He attended school at Douglass High School. Mr. James C. Clayton worked on the railroad for 15 years before retiring from the city of Live Oak after 30 years of service. Mr. James (Jake J.C.) worked for several years for CCS Inc. before retiring from the work force.
Mr. James C. was a faithful member of the Church Of Christ and a devoted husband and father for many years until he passed on Sept. 7, 2015, peacefully in his home surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by four sons, Willie Earl, James L, Alan C. and baby Clayton.
Mr. James C. Clayton leaves fond memories in the hearts of his loving wife of 62 years Mrs. Lillie Mae Clayton of Live Oak. Children: James Chic Clayton of Miami, Fla., Charles (Beverly) of Bartow Fla., Cheryl (John) of Live Oak, Kenneth (Tamla) of Live Oak, Joseph (Marion) of Marietta Ga., Tony (Betty) of Live Oak, Breanda (James) of Gainesville Fla., Georgia of Live Oak., Allene (Daniel) of Columbia S.C., Jeff (Carissa) of Gainesville Fla., Jerome (Yolanda) Perry Fla., Michael of Live Oak, Greg (Alisha) of Live Oak, Fla., and Vivian Thomas of Live Oak. Four brothers in law: James Thomas and Willie Thomas of New York, Ulysses Howard of Atlanta, Georgia, Nathaniel Thomas of Live Oak, Fla. Three sisters in law: Candy Washington of Bartow, Fla., Mary Thomas of New Jersey, Irma Chapman of Jacksonville, Fla. Eighty-three grands and seventy-five great grands. Special friends: Michael and Carolyn White. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins And sorrowing friends.
Service of Love and Remembrance will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at African Missionary Baptist church. Rev. Alex Fountain is the pastor and Bro. Michael Dockery will officiate. Burial will follow in the Eastside Memorial Cemetery. The Clayton family will receive other relatives and sorrowing friends, Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Church of Christ on 10th Street, Live Oak, Fla.

Reginald Heber Scott Jr.
March 8, 1927 – Sept. 11, 2015
Reginald Heber Scott Jr., age 88, of Live Oak, Fla., passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla. He was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII. He was a farmer and Suwannee County Veteran’s Service Officer for many years. Reggie was a member of Barrett Lodge # 43 and performed Masonic Rites for many years for fallen brothers. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, most often accompanied by his dog “Tip”. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak and associate member of the Suwannee Baptist Church in Suwannee, Fla. Reggie will be remembered for growing and selling day lilies at the “Lilly Pad”.
He is survived by one son, Greg (Melinda) Scott, Live Oak; one daughter, Amerette Ridgeway, Live Oak; two sisters, Mary Frances McCullers and Helen (Gerald) Gamble both of Live Oak; four grandchildren, Alexandra Scott, New York, N.Y.; Jennifer Payne, Live Oak; Brad Scott, Asheville, N.C. and Whitney Kiani, Live Oak.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church from 10 to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held, 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at the First Baptist Church with Mr. Billy Carmichael officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery.

David Mills Gillmore
June 28, 1961 – Sept. 13, 2015
David Mills Gillmore, 54, of Live Oak, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at Lake City Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Leesburg, Fla. on June 28, 1961 to Thomas Daniel and Marjory Freyermuth Gillmore. He grew up and was raised in the Jacksonville area and had been living in Live Oak since 2006. He was a retired welder from the United States Navy which he proudly served in for 14 years. He was a member of the Lake City Moose Lodge and loved to play pool. He also loved to shop from the T.V., was a wiz on computers and loved to watch the NASCAR races on Saturdays and Sundays. He is preceded in death by his brother: Thomas Daniel Gillmore II.
He is survived by his loving wife: Alicia M. Gillmore of Live Oak; son: Colter York Gillmore of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughters: Caitlin Mills Gillmore of Texarkana, Texas and Cassidy Conner Jones of Tallahassee, Fla.; mother and father: Thomas Daniel Gillmore and Marjory Freyermuth Gillmore; step-sons: Albert Couter of Lake City and Joey Ray of Georgia; step-daughter: Catherine Huff of Lake City and sister: Janean Gillmore Higginbotham of Keystone Heights, Fla. Seven grandchildren along with numerous extended family members and friends also survive.
Memorial services for Mr. Gillmore will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home. Sept. 13, 2015
Martha J. “Marty” Trueblood, 74, McAlpin, Fla., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015. The Indianapolis, Ind. native moved to McAlpin in 1993 from Kokomo, Ind., was of Protestant faith and loved genealogy.
Mrs. Trueblood is survived by her daughter: Kari (Bobby) Davis, Kokomo, Ind.; two sons: John A. Trueblood Jr., McAlpin, Fla., James Wincel (Michelle) Trueblood, McAlpin, Fla.; sister: Sally Jones, Mt. Home, Ark.; two brothers: Charles (Linda) Kidwell, McAlpin, Fla., Tony (Connie) Kidwell, Celina, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; special friend: Pauline (Kevin) Bowler; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at Daniels Memorial Chapel. There will be a visitation held prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Kidwell Cemetery in McAlpin, 17814 141st Road, McAlpin, Fla.
