Oklahoma city rocked by 30 drive-by shootings in five hours

The shattered window of one the vehicles targeted in a string of drive-by shootings Wednesday night in Enid, Oklahoma. 

Police in Enid, Oklahoma arrested a man late Wednesday who they suspect of being involved in the more than 30 drive-by shootings reported in and around the city earlier that evening. 

Officers and members of the police departments SWAT team served a no-knock search warrant at 11:31 p.m. at the home of Anthony Jackson, and took the 29-year-old into custody. Officers say they recovered evidence of the shootings at Jackson’s home, as well as from his vehicle.

Jackson was arrested on complaints of shooting from a moving vehicle and reckless handling of a firearm.

The investigation of the drive-by shootings is ongoing.

Between 4:56 p.m. and 9:40 p.m., officers responded to 32 reports of drive-by shootings where vehicle windows were shot out. Police sad there were no reported injuries but a dog was shot at 7:17 p.m. The dog underwent surgery Wednesday night and was expected to recover from its injuries.

The shootings occurred in residential neighborhoods, as well as at several Enid businesses.
