Noble increase
“Thanks to the city for giving the city employees a 1 percent cost-of-living increase. I think that was very noble of them. Thank you very much.”
Fletcher noise
“Where are the police in the afternoon about them stopping the loud noise from the boom boxes on Fletcher Street? They need to be in the 200 block of Jones and Fletcher streets between the hours of 4-5 p.m. and stop some of this loud booming. It is disrespectful for the people who live in this area. It was a quiet area.”
Stealing from dead
“Why don’t they have someone at Sunset Hill Cemetery to see who is moving the flowers from my loved one’s grave? I put two baskets of flowers on my husband’s grave, one on his birthday and one during Easter. I went out there last week, and they were both gone. It is a shame people would have time to steal flowers from the dead. It really hurts me.”
Running errands
“In response to ‘Time to retire’: how do you expect older people to get around to get food and everything else they need if they can’t drive?”
Redneck city
“If you think you want to represent the Confederacy, go live in Dalton County or Forsyth County where there are no blacks, Hispanics, nothing but just rednecks.”
Move on
“The flag has been changed. Thank God. Get over it.”
Wasting money
“If the Valdosta Board of Education can waste $6 million building a school that is illegal on existing Valdosta Middle School property, then they don’t need a SPLOST tax. I know I will never vote for SPLOST again for them to waste. The board members who wasted our tax money should resign. They are incompetent.”
Fly your own
“To all you people still whining about the flag, it has been changed already. It has been changed. If you love the flag so much, buy a pole and fly a Confederate flag in your own yard. Nobody can take that down. Get over it. It has been changed.”
Simplify design
“The Georgia flag was voted ugliest flag as were a large number of others that contained their state seals and complex designs. The number one pretty flag was New Mexico which contained a simple red zia on a yellow background. Texas and Mexico was also named pretty flags and they two were very simple, easy to detect symbols.”
Cheap gas here
“As for cheaper gas, you don’t have to drive to Morven or to Waycross, you can just go to the Shell station at Exit 22, $1.27 a gallon.”
