Vernon Earl Adams Jr., 85, of Alapaha, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Coffee Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 19, 1930, in Brooks County to the late Vernon Earl Adams and the late Velva Snellgrove. He was a retired farmer and a member of Lax Holiness Baptist Church and attended Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Elritha Warren Adams of Alapaha; daughter, Brenda (Larry) Parrish of Alapaha; son, Robert (Maxine) Adams of Nashville; four grandchildren, Miranda Adams, Kasie Parrish (Kyle) Johnson, Gavin Adams, and Shannon Parrish; one stepgranddaughter, Tonya Parrish; one great-granddaughter, Aubrie Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Connell and the Rev. Johnny Guy officiating. Interment will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held today, Jan. 9, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville
