Ruby Nell O’Quinn

Ruby Nell O’Quinn, 89, of Valdosta passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Bradenton, Florida on August 31, 1926 to the late Shelton and Louise (Griffis) Register. She has resided in Valdosta since 1954 and was a hoomemaker. She was a faithful member of Bemiss Road Baptist Church. Her devotion to the Lord and her family was the most important thing in her life. She loved working in her yard, riding her lawnmower, picking up pecans and eating catfish with her family. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle B. O’Quinn, son, Bobby M. O’Quinn, brothers, Troy Register and Grady Register.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Faye Turner (John) of Maryville, Tenn., Glenda Diane Hesters (Lawrence), of Valdosta, Vickie Lynn Price (Ronnie), of Valdosta; daughter-in-law, Susan O’Quinn of Baxley; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sister & brother-in-law, Jeanette Wilson (Bill), Orange, TX and brother & sister-in-law, Lorey Register (Idell), Valdosta and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 18, 2016 at Bemiss Road Baptist Church with burial to follow in Cat Creek Cemetery. Mrs. O’Quinn will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, January 17, 2016.
