Artie P. Bland, 92, of Valdosta, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Wrightsville, Ga., on Nov. 1, 1923, to the late William Thomas and Lougenia Clarke Page and had lived in Valdosta since 1954, but had been a resident of Langdale Place for the last two years. Mrs. Bland was a homemaker who loved to cook and sew. She was also a member of Northside Baptist Church since 1955, and was the former secretary of some of the Sunday School classes.

Mrs. Bland is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Judy B. and Tom Tomberlin of Callaway, Va., and Dorothy L. Hall of Southaven, Miss. She is also survived by five grandchildren and their spouses, Elizabeth T. and Dempsey Brown of Boones Mill, Va., Gregory A. Tomberlin of Fairfax, Va., David and Marnee Hall of Old Hickory, Tenn., Dennis and Brandi Hall of Southaven, Miss. and Darrell and Denise Hall of Hahira; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, Page Brown, Alex Tomberlin, Henry Mack Hall, Turner Davis Hall, Charleigh Hall, Ander Hall, Ethan Hall, Chandler Hall, Brinson Hall, Evan Hall; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Along with her parents, Mrs. Bland was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, H.M. Bland; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, in the Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Bland’s burial will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in  West View Cemetery in Wrightsville, Ga. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.
