Lady Dog volleyball takes Madison Cowgirls for first home win

It was a double victory for the Lady Dogs against the Madison Cowgirls. The varsity volleyball team won their game 25-20, 25-13, 22-25 and in the final game they won 25-8 soundly defeating the Cowgirls. The JV Lady Dogs also won in the home gym 25-5, 25-27 and in the final match 15-8.



It was a team effort with Heather Benson, Marcella Walker Kortney Cherry and Sharon Jelks leading the Suwannee scoring attack with help from Kyla Serrona and Heather LeBlanc.



Individual stats

Heather Benson scored an amazing 18 service points, had 12 aces, 16 assists, two kills and four dinks.

Marcella Walker scored 14 service points for the Lady Dogs, had four assists, one ace, one kill and one dink.

Sharon Jelks had 10 service points, 11 assists, five kills, four aces and three blocks.

Kortney Cherry had seven service points, six kills, four aces and two dinks.

Kyla Serrona had eight service points, one kill, two aces and one assists.

Heather LeBlanc had one service point, one kill, five assists and one dink.



Look for more outstanding Lady Bulldog volleyball at home against Taylor County on Sept. 25. The JV Lady Dogs take the floor at 5 p.m. and the Lady Dog volleyball team plays at 6:30 p.m. Go Lady Dogs!
