North Georgia meth bust results in two arrests

DALTON, Ga. — A delivery from Atlanta to Whitfield County was intercepted and two men are in custody after a large drug bust by sheriff’s deputies Wednesday night.
More than a pound of meth with an estimated street value of $40,000 was recovered in the operation by the narcotics unit, according to a press release from Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood.
Juan Ricardo Alba, 36, of Bryan, Ark., and Cristopher Ulisses Gonzalez-Chaves, 24, of Mexico, were charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute and trafficking in meth.
According to the release, the narcotics unit received a tip that a delivery from Atlanta was going to occur, surveillance was made and the suspects were stopped in the Connector 3 area driving a Chevrolet pickup truck. During the investigation more than a pound of methamphetamine was seized.
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests could be made, according to the release.
