VALDOSTA, Ga. — Fast-acting Walmart employees foiled an attempted robbery at the Inner Perimeter Road store Thursday afternoon.

The other man has been identified as the offender, the chief said.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, a man entered the Walmart at 3274 Inner Perimeter Road; he approached a cashier in the Money Center. He handed her a note demanding money, according to a report from the Valdosta Police Department.

The man suggested he had a weapon.

Walmart employees “quickly and quietly” called police.

City police and Lowndes County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the store.

The man was arrested. No injuries were reported.
