The Suwannee High School cross country teams travel to Tallahassee on Saturday for the Cougar Challenge at Phipps Park.

LIVE OAK — Last year was the first year of competition for boys cross country at Suwannee High School. The team won first place at the Cedar Key Invitational and placed second at the district race.

The top two runners are Tim Choe and Micah Hilliard. They are both juniors and continue to push each other and continue making the school record faster.

The Suwannee girls won the Cedar Key Invitational last year. They placed third in their new, more difficult Tallahassee district.

The top two runners are Natalie Lord and Alexis Thompson. Both girls are also juniors and are getting close to breaking the school record. Coach Eric Rodriguez is excited to see how far the teams can go this year.

Both teams travel to Tallahassee on Saturday for the first race of the season.
