TIFTON — Valdosta Middle competed Dec. 10 at Tift Middle’s swim meet. Valdosta finished fourth overall.

Addyson Dorsey and Carter Welch had the best finishes of the day for Valdosta, both in fourth place. Dorsey did so in the 200 freestyle in 2:54. Carter was fourth in the 100 breaststrke in 1:50.

Also scoring for Valdosta were:

— Boys 200 medley relay: Alex Baity, Welch, Boden Sutherland-Mackenzie and Sawyer Moore (7th).

— Girls 200 medley relay: Dorsey, Becca Godwin, Olivia McGhin and Presley Deal (8th).

— Boys 50 freestyle: Sutherland-Mackenzie (7th).

— Boys 200 freestyle relay: Baity, Moore, Welch and Sutherland-Mackenzie (6th).

— Boys 100 backstroke: Sutherland-Mackenzie (8th).

Dorsey, Deal, Godwin and McGhin just missed scoring in the girls 200 freestyle relay, placing ninth. Baity was also just out of the scoring with a ninth-place swim in the 100 backstroke. He was two seconds behind teammate Sutherland-Mackenzie.
