DALTON, Ga. — The 21-year-old man who fell through the roof of a local restaurant while working on an air conditioning unit died Monday night from his injuries. 

Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office authorities confirmed Dustin James Jennings died from injuries sustained when he fell through a hole in the roof at the Engine Room restaurant on Hamilton Street in Dalton. Jennings worked for Arctic Air in Chatsworth. 

Lt. Nancy Chadwick said the death was purely accidental as Jennings was working alone on the roof. The accident happened around 2 p.m. on Monday and Jennings was taken to Hamilton Medical Center.
