Dell Young is the senior pastor of the church.

When asked why the change of name? He said, the name “GracePoint Church captures the mission and significance of our call as a church to carry the message of grace to this world. Grace is not a teaching or a doctrine. Grace is a person and His name is Jesus. We wanted a name with deep biblical roots, a name when heard, that clearly communicates that we are a church. A name that not only says we’re a church, but a name that declares our focus, which is the grace of God.”

What makes GracePoint unique is its diversity, according to the press release.

“We are racially diverse, not only in our people, but also in our leadership,” according to the statement. “Secondly, we’re unique in our message. We focus on God’s amazing grace towards mankind; who He is, what He’s done for you and what life in Him is all about. We emphasize the beauty of God’s acceptance, grace, and freedom from condemnation.

“We also provide outreach ministry into our community.”

For more than 17 years, every week, the church has provided free food for those in need through the food ministry led by Pastor Charles Grimes. The church estimates providonmg food for approximately 8,500 people per year.

GracePoint services include contemporary worship, a relevant message, and an opportunity to receive prayer.

“We also have excellent facilities for children’s and student’s ministry,” according  to the press release. “Our Kingdom-Kidz Ministry is from birth through sixth grade and is led by Pastors David and Teresa Hewitt. Our student ministry called Bridge is led by Pastors Adam and Lisa Page. Pastor Jean Jack leads our Mosaic Women’s Ministry and Pastor Wes Anderson leads our Higher Ground Men’s Ministry.”
