LIVE OAK, Fla. — Sunday is the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The American Legion Post 107 will be holding a memorial service at Memorial Park in downtown Live Oak at 9:30 a.m.

The legion’s chaplain will be present to say a few words during the memorial.

Due to the anniversary falling on a Sunday, the Live Oak Fire Department will not be holding its usual memorial service, said fire chief Chad Croft.

Michael Readyhough, event coordinator with the Legion, said he was surprised when he heard the city had nothing planned. When he mentioned it to members of the Legion, they agreed to throw something together.
