Drugs found by FHP during traffic stop

Lafayette County Deputy Scott Hamlin responded to a call to assist Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Trooper Lee McGauley who stated he had made a traffic stop on a 1998 Chevy SUV traveling at a speed of 76 MPH in a 60 MPH zone on SR 349 approximately eight miles south of Branford.



According to Hamlin’s report the trooper said he could smell a strong odor of cannabis when he approached the SUV. McGualey said he asked the driver, Ronald Lambert, 20, HC 3 Box 306, Old Town, Fl. for permission to search the vehicle. Consent was given by Lambert McGauley said.



Lambert was arrested for possession of cannabis (less than 20 grams) and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center by Hamlin.



He bonded out on $1000 Swann Bail Bond.
