VALDOSTA, Ga. — A young pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Langdale Drive and Bemiss Road Thursday afternoon.
The Valdosta Police Department described the juvenile’s condition as “moderate-serious” Thursday evening, according to a report from the VPD.
The driver of the vehicle was reportedly not injured in the incident.
“It was reported that the juvenile was attempting to cross all five lanes
of Bemiss Road during rush hour traffic,” according to the VPD report. “However, the traffic collision
is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.”
Several officers responded to the scene. Traffic was slowed at the intersection for about a half hour.
“The Valdosta Police Department urges all pedestrian’s to cross at intersections only and to not cross the street unless it can be accomplished in a safe manner,” VPD Lt. Adam Bembry said in a statement.
