Multiple arrests in armed robbery cases

LIVE OAK — The Live Oak Police Department, in coordination with other area law enforcement agencies, has charged and arrested multiple suspects in a string of recent armed robberies, according to an LOPD report.

Farrell Q. Smith Jr. and Josey Carter, both of Live Oak, have both been charged with armed robbery, according to the report.

A third person, Altidor Lewis of Riviera, is also charged with robbery and grand theft of a motor vehicle, the report states.

Lewis was arrested in Orlando for similar crimes, according to the report.

Smith Jr., Carter and Lewis are charged in relation to the Nov. 11 armed robbery at SnP Food and Convenience Store and the Nov. 9 robbery of the Stop and Shop Store, the report states.

They are also suspected to be involved in multiple other robberies that have occurred in nearby counties, according to the report.

Other suspects in these robberies are currently being sought, the report states.

LOPD coordinated with Lake City Police Department, Gainesville Police Department, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation, according to the report.
