Lady Dogs shut out Hamilton in three games

The Suwannee Lady Dog volleyball team traveled across the river to Hamilton County Tuesday, Aug. 30. The girls played hard and shut down Hamilton, taking the win home in three games. Suwannee won game one 25-14, won the second game 25-20 and the third game 25-20 to win the match. This puts the Lady Dog’s record at 2-2 for the season.
Sophomore Cortney Benson had a great night earning 14 service points, eight of them aces. Benson, the Suwannee setter, also had nine assists.
Alex Camunas, Suwannee’s enforcer on the net, fell and hurt her ankle in the second game but managed to rack up six service points, three of them aces, three kills and one assist.
Rebecca Roberts had six service points, two of them aces and one assist.
Ashley Rose had six kills, one service points, an ace, and three assists.
Lacy Smith had six service points, three of them aces and a kill.
Stephanee Skipper had four service points, two of them aces and two assists.
Jasmine Jefferson had two kills, one service point and one assist.
Danielle Smith had two service points, both aces and two assists.
The JV lost their match in two straight games 24-26 and 18-25.
The Lady Dogs will be at home tomorrow night, Thursday, Sept. 8 against Madison. Come out and support those Dogs. Game time for the JV is 5 p.m. and the varsity play at 6 p.m.
