Softball: Buccaneers walk-off in extras, improve to 3-0
Brittany Frye blasted a two-run walk-off home run on Friday to give Branford a 3-1 win against Oak Hall and help the Bucs improve to 3-0 on the season.
MacKenzie Frye pitched a no-hitter. She gave up one unearned run and struck out 12.
BHS trailed 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh. The Bucs sent the game into extra innings after a Madison Lloyd bunt scored Cameron Cassube for the game-tying run.
The Buccaneers host Dixie County tonight at 7 p.m.
Suwannee tennis teams open season with victories at Baker County
The Suwannee boys and girls tennis teams defeated Baker County on Thursday at BCHS. The girls won 7-0 and the boys won 5-2.
Both teams traveled to Tom Brown Park in Tallahassee for the Preseason Classic Tournament on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.
The girls won all three matches, defeating Wakulla (4-3), Rickards (4-3) and Godby (6-1).
The boys beat Wakulla (5-2) but fell short against Rickards (2-5).
SHS tennis playera are: Lindsey Carter, Sara Beth Lee, Holly Anderson, Rutvi Shukla, Jordan Esco, Lily Lamb, Ruby Gonzalez, Tori Lane, Alexander McMillan, Seth Land, Luke Henderson, Ethan Gill, Brenden Richard, Tyler Sandlin, Brent Long and Cameron Simpson.
SHS track competes in first home meet
The Suwannee track teams host Hamilton, Bradford and Taylor County today at 3:30 p.m.
