Volleyball celebrates a successful season

It was a successful year for the Suwannee Women’s volleyball team. They ended the season with a record of 11-8 record for regular season play and went on to win their first district tournament match against East Gadsden.
The team celebrated with an awards banquet Dec. 2.
Most Valuable Player for the varsity team went to Marcella Walker, who had a banner night taking home not only Most Valuable Player but the Team Spirit Award as well. The Best Server went to Heather “Benny” Benson. The Best Net Player, the one with the most dinks, kills and blocks went to Kortney Cherry. The Best Passer Award went to Sharon Jelks with the most assists. Most Improved went to Nereyda Pecina.
The two varsity scholar athletes were Nereyda Pecina and Benny Benson.
The JV player with the most team spirit was Stephanie Skipper. The best server on the JV squad was Alex Camunas. The best passer was Shalisa Cuyler and the best net player was Ashley Rose.
Coach Cissy Witt said it was a most enjoyable year.
