Lafayette County officials sworn in

MAYO — Judge Darren Jackson swore in five Lafayette County officials on Tuesday in a ceremony at the Lafayette County Courthouse.
Brian Lamb was sworn in as Sheriff.
Chuck Hewett was sworn in as Tax Collector.
Tim Walker was sworn in as Property Appraiser.
Steve Land was sworn in as Clerk of Court.
Travis Hart was sworn in as Supervisor of Elections.
The program began with a prayer from Pastor Preston Gainey followed by The Pledge of Allegiance and the playing of the Star Spangled Banner from Andrew Owens on his violin.
Jackson congratulated the officials before they were sworn in, and offered three pieces of advice.
“Always be eager to learn. Never be afraid your colleagues for advice. Most importantly, never be afraid to make changes,” he said.
A crowd of around 60 people attended.
