Thanos: The Infinity Revelation

Jim Starlin returns to his most famous and popular character, the cosmic villain Thanos.

“Thanos: The Infinity Revelation” is the first of a trilogy of recently released stories about the Mad Titan by the man who created the character as a bad guy for Iron Man back in the early 1970s.

Since, Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet have battled against all-star teams of Marvel superheroes. The Infinity stones have been the impetus of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thanos is the grim character looming at the end of the first 10 years of Marvel movies, with the scheduled “Infinity War” set for release in theatres next year.

“Thanos: The Infinity Revelation” is a reminder of what makes the title character not only the Mad Titan but a titan in the past four decades of story-telling in Marvel Comics.

Here, he is reunited with a resurrected Adam Warlock, a character who has also had troubles and caused universal troubles with the dark side of the Infinity Gauntlet.

They seek a new symbol of cosmic power.

“Thanos: The Infinity Revelation” is an intriguing and fun read but it is an expensive proposition. With each hard-cover graphic novel in the trilogy ringing in at $25 per copy.

Still, the first installment stands on its own and shares far more of Thanos than any of the movies have so far.
