LIVE OAK — Barrett Masonic Lodge #43 hosted John Middleton, a board member of the Four Rivers Audubon Society and Branford Camera Club, at a recent meeting.

Middleton addressed the Lodge members and their wives and guests about birds and bird photography.

He presented basic information on bird habits and care that should use when feeding or photographing them. Much emphasis was placed on respecting the birds in their habitats and not disturbing them. He also presented information on how and where to go to be a bird watcher and what equipment you should have. It is important on how to dress and carry water when you are on a bird watch.

It was especially interesting to learn about the Humming Birds that are currently very active now feeding and preparing themselves for their flight south.
