VALDOSTA — Colquitt EMC had 9,500 customers without power as of the last update at 9 p.m. Wednesday, and likely fewer by Thursday morning.

That’s down from more than 51,000 Colquitt customers Monday, according to a statement from the power cooperative.

Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has sent additional crews to help in the restoration process, the statement said.

Georgia Power reported a little more than 1,100 customers still without power in Lowndes County by Thursday morning.
