Suwannee’s Lamb, Hilliard win district titles

Suwannee's Micah Hilliard is a district champion in cross country. 

Two Suwannee High athletes won district championships in their respective sports.  

Swimmer Lilly Lamb took first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle on Thursday at the District 2-2A Championship in Jacksonville.

Lamb’s time of 6:04 earned her a spot in today’s regional meet at the Panama City Beach Aquatic Center.

Lamb will be joined by Suwannee teammates Alyssa Howard, Lexie Fletcher and Hanna Stout for that regional meet. They will race in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. 

On Tuesday, Bulldogs’ standout runner Micah Hilliard had the fastest time in the District 2-2A cross country meet in Crawfordville. Hilliard finished the race in 16:49.

Both SHS cross country teams finished second and earned a trip to a regional meet at Alligator Lake in Lake City on Nov. 4. 

Tim Choe placed second by finishing in 17:08 and Ricardo Cruz was ninth at 18:24.

Alexis Thompson led the SHS girls with a time of 22:16, finishing fourth. Natalie Lord was seventh with a time of 23:32.
