Echols County’s Morgan Hill was named Class A-Public’s Pitcher of the Year this week. The honor came after she was named the Region 2-A Pitcher of the Year last month.

The junior tossed 263 strikeouts and walked 37 batters for a 1.3 ERA in 150 innings pitched for the Wildcats. Her opponents’ batting average was .158.

As a batter, Hill hit seven home runs, 11 doubles and two triples with 19 RBIs and 34 runs scored. She added a 1.000 fielding percentage.

The Wildcats finished fifth in the state tournament with a 19-8 record.
