GSP reports for the accident, which occurred the night of Dec. 21, were still incomplete as of Tuesday.

Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock identified the fatality as William B. Smith.

Smith, 60, was pronounced dead at Colquitt Regional Medical Hospital the same night.

Preliminary GSP reports indicated that Smith, driving a Moped-like motor scooter, was struck by a car driven by Langston. Smith was ejected from the scooter by the impact.

The delay in the report is due to the higher-than-normal work load of the Christmas holiday weekend, according to the agency.

Langston was released on a $20,000 bond, according to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office.

On Christmas Eve, John Mikeal Copeland, was killed when his Ford F-100 crashed on Funston-Sigsbee Road. A passenger in the pickup truck, George Brandon Chambers, was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

According to the GSP, Copeland was driving north at about 9:08 p.m. on Funston-Sigsbee Road when he ran off the roadway about a mile south of Millpond Road. The truck rotated clockwise and traveled into the ditch, vaulted and the bed struck a tree.

The truck continued rotating while airborne and came to rest in the woods, GSP reports said.

Reports for a Tuesday accident at Veterans Parkway South and Tallokas Road in Moultrie were not available. No deaths were reported, but one of the drivers who was pregnant was transported to the hospital.
