VALDOSTA — New businesses come to town all of the time but three businesses rallied together Tuesday for a united grand opening.

Salon at Graystone, The Silo and United Country Valdosta Realestate decided to host one grand opening for all three businesses.

Salon at Graystone and United Country Valdosta Realestate had previous locations and had moved from the Baytree corridor to their new location on Inner Perimeter Road within the last month.

Salon at Graystone reopened in November and United Country Valdosta Realestate reopened in October.

The Silo is new to the brick-and-mortar world, said Ashley Daughtery, owner. The Silo opened two years ago as an online boutique. Now, it sells women’s clothing, jewelry, women’s apparel and does monograms.

The Silo opened its store Dec. 4.

All three businesses share one building. And, during the grand opening, all three businesses had their doors open, including the ones connecting the businesses inside.

So, residents could walk in one side of the building through Salon at Graystone, peruse the selection at The Silo, and end at United Country Valdosta Realestate. All the while picking up small finger foods and drinks.

Having a three-in-one grand opening felt natural, said Janet King, a stylist.

“We are a very close-knit group,” King said.

June Mercer, owner of United Country Valdosta Realestate, said it made sense to promote all three businesses at the same time as all of the owners get along fantastically.

“It’s very rare that three businesses move in together and click,” Mercer said. “And we all click.”

To solidify the grand openings and the bond between the businesses, the buildings were blessed and Terry Burton, British Royal Air Force retiree, raised the American flag followed by the singing of the national anthem.
