JENNINGS, Fla. — A four-vehicle pileup Tuesday morning on Interstate 75 sent a Minnesota woman to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the cars were traveling south on I-75 near the Florida Welcome Center at 7:42 a.m. when a semi-truck entered the right lane from the emergency lane.

That caused the 2002 Buick Le Sabre, driven by 21-year-old Brady Toske, of Valdosta, Ga., to move to the center lane, where 39-year-old William Lindsay, of Brookesville, ran into the rear end of the Buick with his 2017 Hyundai Accent, according to the FHP report.
Toske’s car then spun clockwise, hitting the driver’s side of the 18-wheeler, which began to jack knife, traveling across the southbound lanes and pushing the Buick across the lanes as well, the report states.
According to FHP, the Hyundai went left after hitting the other car and stopped 150 feet south of the crash, while the semi stopped while blocking all three southbound lanes and the Buick came to rest in the inside emergency lane facing northwest.
Seconds later, 79-year-old Stephen Fignar swerved his 2005 Ford Escape from the inside lane to the right and hit the semi’s trailer. Fignar’s car hit the trailer’s landing gear, preventing it from continuing to travel underneath the trailer, the report states, instead stopping with the front of the Ford beneath the trailer.
Fignar suffered minor injuries but was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville via lifeflight along with passenger Joan Fignar, 77, who was in serious condition.
Nobody else was injured in the accident.
