LIVE OAK, Fla. — Two former Live Oak residents are releasing “Hope Has A Name,” a documentary film today.

In August 2016, Ken and Lesa Henderson started filming “Hope Has A Name,” which is about ordinary women bringing extraordinary hope in urban America, the bush of Africa, the war zone of the Congo and in closed nations.

Lesa said while visiting their son in a Christian drug recovery program in 2012, they met a woman who brought a lot of hope to the residents.

“That sparked an idea that there are a lot of women working behind the scenes that you don’t know about that are doing amazing things around the world,” Lesa said.

During this time, they also visited a friend in Bartow who was ministering and feeding people.

“The Lord placed something in our heart,” Lesa said. “In 2016, he really challenged us to do something with it.”

Lesa said, with hardly any money, a couple of cameras and some skills, they started filming in August 2016.

“It’s been kind of crazy and we’ve been around the world,” she said.

Lesa said they had a few women in mind when they started.

Heidi Baker, Amy Lancaster, Deena Van’t Hul, Jessica Goodman and Cassandra Lee are the women featured in the film.

“The Lord led us to each woman,” Lesa said. “Once we started rolling, one person led to another.”

They wrapped filming in July 2017.

During that time, they endured two hurricanes, a fire, a tornado and a snow storm.

They lost a lot of the footage from China and equipment when the place they were staying in in Gatlinburg, Tenn., burned down.

“It’s been quite crazy,” Lesa said.

“The word is out on an international level so it is kind of surreal,” Ken said. “It’s reaching a long way from our roots.”

Ken and Lesa live on Merritt Island, Pastor Salt Life Church and oversee Cornerstone School of Supernatural Ministry.

They scheduled their filming around their responsibilities at the church.

“In the process, I think we only missed one Sunday,” Ken said.

Ken and Lesa are currently working on two films “Above Your Dreams” and “ A Fire Out of Georgia.”

They are considering filming “Above Your Dreams” in Suwannee County.
