He’s a cyborg with the familiar curl atop a bald head and the jack-o-lantern smile striped shirt. All far darker than the sweet images of Schultz’s sweet Peanuts.
Snoop is a beast of a beagle. Linus is a mutant. Lucy is a scientist who psychologically manipulates Weapon Brown to ensure he obeys orders. In various editions, he also meets parodies of other newspaper comic strip characters: Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert, Popeye, etc.
Anyone familiar with the Peanuts will recognize the characters from storylines such as “Blockhead’s War,” “A Peanut Scorned,” etc.
Some Charlie Brown fans may consider “Weapon Brown” sacrilege of the characters and sweet childhood memories; other Peanuts fans should find the series great fun.
