The Georgia Bulldogs have had an incredible season thus far, full of major successes and true sportsmanship. The Dawgs’ victory in Pasadena for the Rose Bowl further increased the momentum and UGA fans’ excitement towards the upcoming National Championship in Atlanta. If you happen to be one of those ecstatic fans, here are 14 songs to increase the hype.
“UGA ANTHEM” by FlyGuy2Stackz
Created by FlyGuy2Stackz, otherwise known as Georgia Bulldogs running back Sony Michel, “UGA ANTHEM” is perhaps the ultimate hype song. With inspiration excerpts and a solid, undeniable beat, the track never decreases the energy and motivation. Because “yeah, we going for the win.”
“Roses” by OutKast
Though this song was produced 2003, it exists as a timeless hip-hop classic. Both extremely catchy and sporting a bouncy tempo, “Roses” is a track produced by a hip-hop duo straight out of Atlanta, which is a fitting tidbit as the Dawgs will be fighting for the National Championship title there on Monday.
“No Limit” by G-Eazy, A$AP Rocky
“No Limit” was released as the first single from G-Eazy’s most recent album, “The Beautiful & Damned” and features Cardi B with a repetitive but intense post-chorus. The song is an exemplification of dedication and a simple reminder that our team has no limit.
“Bank Account” by 21 Savage
An ode to wealth and success, “Bank Account” became an essential last semester, when it was released. With a simple beat and appealing chorus, the track puts the emotions that come with fame and victory up for display.
“iSpy (feat. Lil Yachty)” by KYLE, Lil Yachty
The verses in “iSpy” flow with a mid-tempo summer vibe, which is precisely what Athenians crave during this cold snap. This feel-good anthem is the perfect pick-me-up for any tense game day play.
“All Night (feat. Knox Fortune)” by Chance The Rapper, Knox Fortune
Since the National Championship is set to begin at 8 p.m., it can be assumed that most Bulldog fans will be up all night, making Chance’s “All Night” an essential. It’s a fun, fast-tempo track that will have you on your feet the moment he says, “Start dancing.”
“New Rules” by Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa’s pop hit “New Rules” is guaranteed to get stuck in your head after listening to it. Her confident vocals and easy to pick up chorus make the track an absolute bop, even if you can’t get it out of your head the next day.
“Congratulations” by Post Malone, Quavo
Though it may seem a little cliché, the Dawgs have much to celebrate. From the small successes they experienced this season to them earning a spot in the Rose Bowl and then the National Championship in Atlanta, “congratulations” doesn’t even begin to cover it. Post Malone’s popular track reminds the Bulldog Nation that yes, “we made it.”
“goosebumps” by Travis Scott
A softer, vocally-concentrated track, “goosebumps” is an eerie song with a much more “chill” vibe than earlier songs in the playlist. Travis Scott’s hook, “I get those goosebumps every time, yeah” might as well be describing a UGA fan’s reaction to a beautiful play by the Dawgs.
“Willy Wonka (feat. Offset)” by Macklemore, Offset
Another track with a slower beat, “Willy Wonka” is track off Macklemore’s most recent album, “GEMINI,” and showcases his powerful vocals paired with those of Offset. The track picks up midway and reminds listeners that our Dawgs “got flavor.”
“I Luv This Shit – Remix (Bonus Track)” by August Alsina, Trey Songz, Chris Brown
August Alsina’s track is a reminder of how incredible it feels to be united as a university through something as simple as a sport. Through the ups and downs, the losses and wins—we love it.
“Bodak Yellow” by Cardi B
It’s hard to find a female hip-hop song that’s as confident and centered on success as Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow.” With an extremely catchy chorus and intense, determined verses, “Bodak Yellow” is an account of someone who started toward the bottom and worked her way to the top.
“Glorious (feat. Skylar Grey)” by Macklemore, Skylar Grey
A beautiful ode to working for and achieving success through passion and dedication—a common theme of this playlist—“Glorious” is a gentle reminder of the importance of having confidence in yourself and never ceasing to achieve what you strive for.
“It Was A Good Day” by Ice Cube
All in all, UGA’s current football season has been a rollercoaster of emotions. From the support of the fans to the multiple successes and, most notably, the incredible wins, the Dawgs have truly dominated. In the end, “it was a good day.”
