VALDOSTA – Valdosta Police Department is reporting that an explosion occurred at South Georgia Pecan silos downtown at the intersection of Lee Street and Wooding Lane.

The explosion could be felt across downtown Valdosta and caused damage to some businesses.

Valdosta Police Department, Valdosta Fire Rescue and EMS are responding. 

The scene is still under investigation and VFD is trying to ensure that another explosion does not occur according James Clinkscales PIO for VFD. 

Police and VFD report no injuries from explosion.
