Valdosta Toys ‘R’ Us not on closure list

VALDOSTA — Toys “R” Us has announced it will close roughly 180 stores starting in early February, according to court documents with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia Richmond Division.
Among the 182 stores being closed, the Valdosta location is not listed; however, there are eight stores in the Peach State that are listed as closing, according to court documents.

The Georgia stores are:
• 2601 Dawson Road, Albany.
• 2955 Cobb Parkway, Smyrna.
• 6380 N. Point Parkway, Alpharetta.
• 1155 Mt. Vernon Highway, Dunwoody.
• 6875 Douglas Boulevard, Douglasville.

• 132 Pavilion Parkway, Fayetteville.
The store closures will need to be approved by the court first and represent approximately 6.9 million square feet of retail space on a cumulative basis, according to court documents.
Store closures will begin Feb. 7 and end April 15, according to court documents.
