Georgia Christian routs Grace Christian Academy

A five-run inning fueled the Georgia Christian baseball team to a 13-4 rout of the Grace Christian Academy Cougars on Thursday.
The Generals struck early when Darren Long hit a two-run homer. They scored five runs in the seventh inning courtesy of Dalton Rizer, Boston Guthrie, Sam Wheeler and Will Copeland all driving in runs.
GCS finished with 14 hits. Copeland, White, Long, Zach Jones and Guthrie each had multiple hits. Copeland and White offered three apiece.
White earned the win for GCS, surrendering three runs on two hits across four innings with three strikeouts. Rizer and Grant Garrett pitched relief.
Grace’s Jared Dukes lasted four innings, allowing nine hits and eight runs while striking out four. De’Andre Rogers and York entered the game in relief, throwing 2 2/3 innings and 1/3 of an inning, respectively.
The Cougars scored their runs on a home run by John York.
